My wife's new Kimber Ultra CDP II. Took it to the range today to start the break in proccess. 4 FTF in 140 rounds fired, better than we expected actually. IT's a great shooter, especially for a 3"bbl.

Break down is a bit of a pain using the glorified paperclip "tool". Also lots of nooks and cranies to get clean.

Congrats to you both! I recently purchased a full sized Kimber CDP II and I couldn't be happier. I suspect that you and your wife will feel the same way... especially after the break-in period.
On a side note, TRY to not lose the "glorified paper clip". I did, and I had to make my own for my Kimber Ultra Carry II. While it isn't a major problem, it certainly makes things harder until you find (or create) a suitable substitute. I had to harden a paper clip for this purpose as a normal paper clip had too much "give" for effective use as a take down tool.
I'm sure your wife will love the new addition. Just make sure you don't "accidentally" requisition it for your own daily carry. ;-)

Sweet!

The take down tool thing might seem tricky at first but gets easy after that.
Another thing... make sure you're not engaging the grip safety when removing the slide. ;-)

Thanks for the tip, the salesman already warned us about the grip safety while re-assembling the slide/frame. The guy at the Arms Room was really good about taking us through the takedown process step by step, he probably spent 30 minutes with us AFTER the sale.

Yeah, the first time I field stripped my Pro Carry I couldn't seem to get the slide off the frame
so I had to do the unthinkable...I read the manual :???: Frightening

Fortunately I was gentle and didn't do any damage to it.

I have the Stainless Ultra Carry II, and I bought a take down tool from 1911UltraTool.com. It works like a champ. Yes, it is $25.00, but your pistol cost over $1,000.00, so what's $25.00? I found the tool to be well worth the price in decreased aggravation alone.

My Ultras thank you for this post TAM!!!

I've placed my order, I'd pay twice the price.

Its a beauty, make sure to not create an "idiot" mark on it when disassembling it. They never go away...
