Fearing for his life, Hands said he pulled the trigger.

"I took the shotgun, cocked it and while he was standing there, boom, all his face tore up," Hands said.

Police said Hands’ weapons were confiscated after the shooting, and they took him in for questioning.

Be aware there is some "slightly" colorful adult language, detailing the shooting incident...I don't believe it violates the rules, but since you'll have to click to the link, I believe it does not violate the posting rules here in this particular case...Just a fair warning...

He should have shut up not talk to the media. They way he described the shooting will rise eye brows with the Antis.

Beiruty when you get to 92 you don't really have to be PC and don't give a rat if it offends some people out there. I just hope I can take a gun away from a 30 something when I'm 92. I already hate having to watch all the toes I would really rather stomp on than tip-toe around.

Note to the bad guys. Quit messing with old folks their patience has about wore out and they are tired of putting up with your stuff. I'm in my 50's and I'm tired of it.

How is this not covered under Castle Doctrine?

Besides, old folks experience more pain getting out of bed in the morning than you youngsters will likely feel in a month.

Classic example of the old axiom: "Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he's too old to fight, he'll just kill you."

I hope he has another gun and they didn't leave him defenseless.

This is the one aspect of this issue that disturbs me the most...

I see no justification, reason, or for the safety of the general public for this to happen...

Now, if it has to be investigated, and go before a grand jury, as ALL homicides do, regardless of its appearance or justification, then sure, but the confiscation of all weapons not involved in the actual homicide, to me is a bit overboard...Especially in this instance...

Common sense should be considered on both sides of this investigation, and not just on the enforcement side...You'd hope the DA will get this resolved very fast in this case and let it go...This man deserves the respect and consideration of everyone, period, and these formalities are not doing him any of that...

On a personal note, I did have a nice discussion with Pat Lycos (DA) last Monday night at our quarterly meeting, and I asked her about this case...She said one of her ADA's is handling it and that it will be no-billed, barring any immediate revelations, hopefully by the end of this week...

The gentleman will get his posessions back very quickly...

It just burns me up to see a person like this be insulted by a process that emphasises common sense for their benefit, yet it insults our rights at the drop of a hat...

Maybe this encounter with Pat will garner a possible appointment to a citizens advisory panel in the future...I'd like to work for the community in that capacity more than anything...Maybe I can change a few attitudes in that organization, within the law of course... ;-)
