hey guys just wanted to get a poll, i have an hk p7 that i want to refinish because i bought it in really bad shape. i really want to hard chrome is but its kinda expensive, i found someone locally who will duracoat it for me for $50, the main reason im interested in duracoat not only for the money aspect, but because the p7 heats up so much and from what i heard the duracoat is very heat resistant and will help with the heating problem. just putting it out there, what are yalls opinion? looking to either go stainless steel duracoat, or hk black. opinion on that too

Who is doing the work? If it is a solid color you should be ok.

I'm looking at having my 30sf duracoated, at least the polymer frame portion.

i was going to have grip reductions in houston do the work for me, the only issue i had was on the right side of the gun the serial number and west germany proof marks are BARELY engraved and so im afraid the duracoat might fill it up

I've always let any firearm that's duracoated cure for at LEAST 30 days before shooting it. Also prep work is key to having a good finish. Now if your going to holster the P7 alot them I would go another route bc the duracoat won't last long

My first thought when I see a duracoated gun for sale is "What are they hiding?"

If you decide to do it, definately let Dale do it, he is the man. His frame texture job is also worth the $.

Duracoat on metal is not a very durable. If you're going to paint it go with MolyResin it's a better choice.
