XDm Fully Loaded Mag Inserted for Long Periods?

Ok, I know I should know this, but I can't remember where I read the answer before and now, I'm not sure. I have an XDm9 that's still fairly new with less than a thousand rounds through it. It's a home/truck defense gun that I keep handy with the magazine fully loaded (I have no little kids around). There is so much pressure when I seat it in the grip, I have to smack it. To release it, while still fully loaded, I have to apply pressure again to the end of the mag while pressing the mag release.
So, here's the question; Will leaving the mag inserted for long periods cause any problem with that pressure all the time? Like harm the gun in any way or deform shell casings? I know if I take a couple bullets out, it relieves it, but then I have two less bullets in case of zombies. :biggrinjester:

What is the opinion of you learned gurus on this? :headscratch

I have read that the metal used in magazine springs is much better than it used to be and there should be no problem leaving magazines fully loaded. I leave all my magazines in every gun I have owned for the last 5 years with full magazines (I have had XDM's, Kahr's, SPringfield 1911's, Sig's, Glock's, FN's, Para Ordnance, Ruger). I have yet to have any problems with magazines.

Feedlips: If the magazine is in a firearm then the feed lips are not in contact with the ammunition (The slide presses down on the top cartridge slightly). If the magazines are inserted fully into a quality mag pouch or carrier then the mag pouch/carrier is pressing the top cartridge into the magazine. This is actually a moot point with modern magazine materials save for the likes of thin magazines of certain designs (Like those found in the AR-15).

Springs: As long as the spring is in the magazine it will always be under tension, the actual act of cycling magazines causes the springs to weaken. To extend the life of your springs leave them loaded or empty and leave them alone unless your ready to use them.

Thanks for your responses. I knew there is no harm to the magazine from doing this. I was more concerned about the gun or the bullets.
I guess if MRVMAX has kept his this way without problems, I am ok with doing it too. :thumbs2:
