Thanks guys-It is indeed a sad day now that I've got to warn my son to NEVER take that 5.5" plastic toy to school for fear of him being expelled from the 4th grade.

When we lived in California, I told my son to never even
mention at school, not even to his friends, that we had guns in the house for fear of what an over-zealous teacher and Child Protective Services might try to do.

A text passage in a college course I took recently attributed a recent decrease in school age suicide to an increase in in gun laws and celebrities coming out of the closet.

Wow! What an interesting gun. Check out the cartridge it fires (hence the distinctive magazine):

I wonder what the grain weight for that bullet is?? I've read that combat ammo for amphibious rifles are usually made of hardened steel. I would imagine it weighs a ton!

That is awesome of you guy to find this out. I just showed the article to my 9 year old while told him about his little toy. He even told me, "Okay Dad, we're both under water; Pow, pow!" while pointing the tiny gun at me. It's hard for me to wrap my head around underwater gun play; I wonder if this kinda' stuff happened often in the Cold War. Hmm. I can just see some ridiculous British PSA with children with these rifles playing Marco Polo.
In Russia, underwater combat, Frogman, automatic rifle finds you,
