Surprise, but welcome range visit

Guys,

I really didn't have the time or money to go to Red's, but a couple of church buddies out of the blue invited me to go to Red's, so I couldn't refuse. Sooo-I scooted off to the P-Ville Wal-Mart to get ammo and went Redward. Coincidentally I got my revolver back today from having warranty work on the sights, so I got to check it out and the sights worked perfectly.

The expedition was planned 'cause friend 1 was showing a Glock 19 to friend 2 that friend 1's co-worker was selling. It turned out that friend 2 didn't like the Glock, but friend 1 decided that he liked and would buy it from his co-worker. I've been needing this little destresser; I got to play with my Bersa, LCP and .22, and the Glock and friend 1's Rossi 38 snubby.

Isn't it nice that the days of being able to pick up ammo right before you head to the range have returned?

The Wal-Mart in Pflugerville always has a good selection of ammo and often .380. They carry Winchester, Federal, and some other brand of 9MM. I got a box O' Federal 9MM for $9.99. I already had an unopened brick O' Federal .22 and some Monarch .380 left over.

It sure is. It wasn't too long ago that a fella had to scavenge all the Walmarts and Academys through the week just to have some ammo for a weekend range trip.

Also having friends at the range always makes it more fun. Don't get me wrong I like shooting ALONE most of the time, but having company is nice on occasion. Unless its my wife and she is ALWAYS welcome to come and practice with me.

I experienced a guilty pleasure when I was there. I walked up to the range counter, pulled out my revolver from my front right pocket, pulled out my Bersa from right kidney IWB, and pulled out my LCP from my back right pocket; and when I left I switched back to my SD ammo and re-holstered my arsenal. It kinda' made me feel like a big man that I had my CHL and I didn't have to walk out of the range with my guns in a bag or a box. :anamatedbanana Is that wrong? :biggrinjester:

When I get done shooting, my guns are usually too warm to comfortably and safely put back in the holsters I am wearing. I usually carry at least one gun that I do not plan on shooting and then put the "shooters" in my range bag. That way I can keep a SD weapon on me (usually just keep it in the holster the whole time I am shooting).
