Any time you post a link to an article that requires a subscription to view, you really should give us your username and password so that we can also view it.

If you're not willing to do that ( ;-) ) how about always including a link to http://www.bugmenot.com so that your readers can obtain a free user/password to view your linked article? I used jimmy8881/xyzzybob provided by bugmenot.com to view your article.

Just my 2ยข.

I didn't have any trouble getting in. No subscription required ...

Sounds like a personal problem. The link opened for me with no login and no subscription.

I understand where TAM is coming from. Years ago, I used their free signup to view NYT articles, but then decided to decline when they made it fee-based (their prerogative, of course, no ill will here). In the same manner as WSJ, some articles are made public, most are not. I suspect this is one of the public articles.

No problems here TAM. It looks like the NYT has black balled you.

Hmmmm.... That's weird. I clicked on the link, and I was presented with a login screen before they would let me look at the page.

That chick is a straight up communist, as are most of the "democratic" party these days.

(First time didn't take, so I'll try this post again.)
This happened to me as well. Then, I enabled cookies for the site, called up the page again, and it worked.

Probably for "helping" you with the site navigation, but more likely to retain whatever variables they need to cue ads or whatever. :banghead:

I hope this will help them lose seats next month. It's even better if they lose seats to candidates the GOP establishment has alienated, like the TEA Party folks.

First problem is the two months following the General Election: King, Queen and team have already stated they will push through everything they can in the lame duck session. Pelosi will still be the commander until the next Congress are sworn in.

Second problem would follow from the election:
* If the Republicans win big, they'll think it was because of their charisma, and they will continue their old policies.
* Tea Party winners are more likely to take votes away from Conservatives rather than Liberals (not certain, it will be interesting to watch the outcome).

I don't expect a whole lot of political change, really, because the machine is too massive (and many other reasons). As the economy deteriorates, we could either see a progression of more conservative election outcomes as we return to values, or we might see more "progressive" election outcomes as people will continue to believe whomever promises the most. Either way, we're in for a continuing period of difficulty.

I can't think of a a single race where a TEA Party candidate is running against a conservative.

Every race I know of where a TEA Party candidate is running, they ARE the conservative.
