well...is there more to the story?

I have been a fan of Zeiss optics on the "professional level" since long before I knew they were into rifle scopes.

So, what's the scoop?

apparantly you linked to a video or something and I can't see anything but your first line of text. I have no idea what the original post is about, other than something about Zeiss allowing cameras into their plant.

My laptop is so screwed up now that I can't use my business s/w. It was bad enough that the doofus I took it to to de-bug it screwed the sound up, now no vids, and worst of all can't use some of the legacy s/w that can't be replaced (direct downloads from 3-4 years ago)

Anyway, I guess my question about the Zeiss connection is a moot point.

edit to add: yes, I know it's time to dump this crummy dell and get a real computer to replace it, and money is no object...of course

AndyC - Fascinating video. I am pretty much familiar with machining and coating processes for the tubes so I especially enjoyed watching the optics part of the manufacturing. It may not have any particular significance, but I one thing that I noticed was that during the manufacturing, assembly and testing operations, was that many or most of the people working there are men. At most of the foreign plants that I have visited, they hire mostly women for assembling and inspecting products. It is also interesting that they stressed that each worker was responsible for the quality inspection of their own product at each operation. Thanks for the post.

OT:
I don't know how long it's been since the doofus de-bugged it, but you might consider a system restore (if it's enabled) if they caused more problems than they solved.
