My last excuse to not buy a 1911 or two is now gone.

I love Advantage Tactical Sights, until now they only made them for Springfield XD, Glock, Sig Sauer, and some S&W revolvers.
Last year I wrote them asking why none for 1911s ...

now ...

Now, I need to decide which will be first, a Kimber or a Springfield 1911.

1911 Preference is
1) 100% reliable
2) Hi-cap would be nice, width is ok< I'm used to a Block/Glock (if hi-caps are 100% reliable)
3) 3" would be great, I'm used to a Glock 26, I can't carry my Taurus PT-92/Glock 17/19 as well, it's too long in the barrel.

Suggestions welcome. ( I already like Ultra Carry 2 ... but, preferably with all 3 criteria above, if such a thing exists?.

Kimber and Springfield 1911 and S&W m&p sights will shipping no later than the end of Nov. 2010 or before.

"Check with your gunsmith whether your 1911 will take the Kimber or Springfield 1911 dovetail cuts or a mix and match of either front or rear sight. We’ve been paying attention to those who want an Advantage Tactical night sight. We will have one for the 2011 shot show in Jan and it will be fantastic. The best thing of all is that it won’t be tritium’s — no more buying a new set of sights every 6 years. Yeah, I know that they last for 10 years or so, but the practical half life of them is about 6 before they get to dim and you have to stare at them to see anything. I can’t give away too much right now, other than everyone with current Advantage Tactical’s will be able to upgrade to the night sights. The ATS night sight will be brighter, easier to see and faster to acquire, and will not light up your face like pumpkin in a dark room, like tritium’s will."

Before suggesting ...

I owned a full sized Glock .45, my hand didn't like it, I haven't tried the 36 single stack, but still ... I like a 1911's cocked/locked trigger pull better than any Glock safe action.
I like a single action trigger pull, like a cocked revolver.... I'm just more accurate with those.
I qualified with my cocked and locked PT-92, but they don't make the compact any more, and it ain't a .45 anyway.

I intend to make my 26 a backup, and the 1911 my primary concealed, and retire my PT709 to wear only kayak fishing for a snake gun.

I know y'all say "I conceal a full-sized 1911" ........... but I can't conceal long barrels without doing the "pants on the ground" (shoulder mobility in drawing a longer barrel) I carry IWB, won't do OWB
