Do you guys know anything about this company? They are out of Oklahoma City and they seem to make a lot of different loads at an affordable price. Any info and I would be extremely grateful.

can you define affordable price? Does it beat Walmart?

There is a lot of other ammo they sell. Many are the harder to find niche rounds. There .32 H&R is pretty hot loaded to. Now I know none of this matters if it is not quality but that’s why I was asking if anybody had any experience with this company.

I will shoot them an e-mail and to get some info about the company and if it sounds good maybe I will post a little review so others can know. I need to buy a chronograph so I can start checking out various companies’ loads. A friend has one and he tells me it is not uncommon for most loads to run 100fps lower then advertised regardless of the manufacturer even with correct barrel lengths. Though he says some run close or sometimes better then advertised. I think I will get one for Christmas as a gift to myself!

Talked to Reed's and they seem like stand up guys. I ordered 200 rounds of various 10mm auto. When I get it in I will take it to the range and try to post some pics of the ammo. If these guys really load Gold Dots and XTP and even come close to the velocities they say I might just go with them instead of Double Tap for 10mm. 32 bucks for a 50 round box of 10mm Gold Dot is not to bad. All brass is virgin and all loads are within maximum pressure ranges for the 10mm according to them. We will see how it does.

Well I finally got some of the Reeds ammo in. 250 rounds of the .32 H&R came last week and I shot 50 rounds this week. I did not get the 10mm in yet from Reeds. I inspected all 250 rounds and I found one round with a primer that was installed a little off (the cartridge will wobble when standing). Other then that all were good. All .32 H&R rounds were made up of virgin Starline brass and 85 grain Hornady xtp bullets, Reeds adversities 1280fps. They told me this was from a 4inch barrel. I also received 100 rounds of Georgia Arms 100 grain jhp rated at 1100fps. Georgia Arms told me this was a Speer bullet and all ammo was inspected and seemed top quality even though it comes loose in a plastic bag.

At the range I had 4 different ammunition manufacturers and 3 used the 85 grain Hornady xtp bullet (the other round was Georgia Arms 100 grain jhp). I did this to compare noise, muzzle blast, accuracy etc. All used Starline virgin brass. All rounds were shot from my 3 1/6 Ruger SP-101 at 12 yards.

First I shot the cream puff Federal loads. These were very accurate like always and little or no recoil or muzzle blast. This would be a great round for the recoil sensitive. The second brand of ammo was the Black Hills. A noticeable increase in recoil (went from no recoil to a little recoil) and it was a little louder but still no magnum. Dead accurate just like the Federal though.

Before talking about the last two manufactures I would like to say that I have shot a Ruger SP-101 in .327 Federal Magnum and yes the 327 is a magnum even though it is a 0.312 caliber bullet unlike the .32 H&R which up until these last two manufactures I would never consider a magnum.

Ok, first the Reeds. All I can say is WOW! This stuff is hot. Recoil is present and on par with .38 special +P that I have shot in some S&Ws with 3-4 inch barrels. It is also quite loud and has some muzzle blast. It is much louder then my S&W with .38 Special +P. The man next to me was shooting a Walther P99 and stopped to watch me shoot. After I fired all six rounds in the cylinder he said nice .357 mag. Of course it was not that loud but it sure fooled this guy. Accuracy is still great with this round though. I shot it with the same 3inch grouping at 12yards. I did have one round that got stuck in the cylinder and took me a second to get out. I inspected all fired cases and there was some slight bulging but no split or cracked cases.

The Georgia Arms was also very hot and had even more recoil then the Reeds. My accuracy was also off a little and muzzle flash was like the Reeds. I only shot 6 rounds and the grouping spread out to about 4-5inches. When extracting the cases from the cylinder they all got stuck. It took me about 3 minutes to get them all out. The cases did not split or crack but they did expand a little much for my taste. These were hot rounds and I would probably only run them in a heavy gun like the Ruger and not the S&W snub air-weight but that’s just me.

I definitely liked the Reeds ammo but the Georgia arms would not be good in a self-defense situation if the cases get stuck and I need to reload quickly. Next time I will try the Georgia arms first and see if the cases are hard to extract. For roughly 20-23 bucks for 50 rounds I would say the Reed's Ammo and Research are well worth it. When the 10mm comes in I will give a review.

Interesting. I bought a thousand rounds of .357 Sig FMJ from Georgia Arms for my Sig P239. I shot an IDPA match with it, and several people commented on how loud my pistol was. I didn't really think it was that loud but others sure did. I didn't have any problems with jams or shell extraction.

Isn't the .357sig round loaded to higher pressure compared to most other service calibers? I would think the round itself is louder just due to pressure alone. But what do I know I don't shoot that caliber as of now anyway.
