I was sitting at the local Walmart while the wife ran in for some items. This older man walks out of the doors wearing a shoulder holster and what "appeared" to be a small pistol. I didn't get a good look at it, but I think it was a cell phone and not a pistol. I would think that someone in the store would have stopped him if it was indeed a pistol, but I'm uncertain. I sat there in disbelief and thought that if it were a pistol, he had some nerves of steel. If not, then it was the most misleading accessory I've ever seen and I think he drew alot of attention to himself.

Is there a potential for this kind of phone holster (if that's what it was) to cause problems??

There's a potential for anything that looks like a weapon to cause problems.

AFAIK, it's not illegal to carry a replica gun (AirSoft or pellet gun), but it can get you in a heap of trouble.

I was in IKEA about a month ago and saw a guy in "biker clothes" wearing a shoulder holster over his t-shirt. I walked around so I could see what he was packin'. The rig was set up with pockets for a cell phone, wallet and several other things. He saw me checking it out and told me it was great for long trips and he even kept his smokes and lighter in it.
