I've shot my buddy's 6-shot Rossi .357 (2.5-inch barrel stainless) and was very impressed by it. Very accurate at the 7-10 yard distance I fired it. Trigger is stiff and a bit gritty, but not horrible (I've shot much worse).

I saw that same $199 ad this morning and it seems like a very good deal. Great truck gun or tackle box gun. Wonder if size is closer to Smith J-frame or Ruger SP-100? Would help to know for holster purposes.

The 6-shot I fired is close to a Smith K-frame size.

my personal experience with rossi is avoid at all cost. the rossis revolver i had was i believe the same one in academy's ad, when i got it it shot fine but after like 100 rounds, the cylinder release started to stick, apparently the spring inside of that snapped, and then lodged itself between the frame of the gun and the hammer causing the gun to jam up. yes thats right, i ended up with a jam on a revolver, so i quickly sold it and would not recommend it to anyone.

but then again it may have just been a lemon, but im not willing to chance it so yea, just my 2 cents

I have one for the car. The finish is rough, the balance is poor, and I don't fire it often because the grip hurts my hand. In short, it's a beast. If you want a gun like that, spend the money for a Ruger SP-101, which in contrast is a dream to shoot.

I had a Rossi 5 shot .38 and it was a great gun! I was tempted to pick this one up as I miss my original Rossi.

Sure, it's not a Ruger or S&W...but it is a solid, functional firearm for a great price.

I have shot several boxes through my friends Rossi 5 shot revolver. The gun has been 100% reliable for years.

Only quirck is that his shoots slightly left of POA, and by slightly I mean only about an inch. Doesn't matter who is at the trigger, it's a little left.

If the Rossi is what fits your budget, go for it. Shoot the devil out of it and don't look back.

I know a buddy or two that have one. They both say its a great gun for the price ans size. The fit and finish leave a bit to be desired compared to a Ruger or S&W, not to say its bad though.
