So, I found a deal on this Sun Optics site and 3X optic.

Anyone have help on how to get it all mounted on the weapon? Looks like I'll need to go with a cantilever type mounts, anyone have suggestions?

Replace the plastic hand guards with a quad rail. Then scoot the scope forward on the rail to make room. Then buy a flip-to-side mount for the magnifier and mount it behind the scope. That's how it's usually done.

I have not seen the type of scope you have used with a magnifier. I'm not saying it won't work its just going to be cramped on the rail. All the mounts I see that might work are on Bravocompanyusa.com, they are all in the $120-165 range. You might want to sell the ACOG type scope and buy an Aimpoint or Eotech type sight instead. It would greatly simplify everything.

If that optic is magnified you don't need the magnifier. If you want optional magnification, sell the optic and get your choice of a red dot sight. Then you can use the magnifier. (as stated before)

For mounts I usually recommend Larue, but they are spendy. Good luck!

I have a Burris PEPR mount that was only $70 and does everything the Larue mounts do. That might work. But I'd lose the ACOG clone and just get an Eotech or Aimpoint.

I'm a diehard LT fan, and have nothing but great things to say obviously. I feel like the Burris is a decent mount, but I think LT does it better.

Echo ditching the ACOG knockoff and getting an EOTech or Aimpoint. Mine is an EOTech with a 3X magnifier on a flip to side mount.

But regardless of what optic or holographic sight you finally buy, you're going to have to swap out that plastic handguard for one that has at least a top rail. You can go cheap and get a UTG rail which will mount exactly like your handguard does, or you can get a somewhat more expensive free-floating handguard. The free-floating ones are better for your carbine's accuracy.

Magpul MOE - $29.95 (this one requires accessory rails that you bolt onto the handguard)

Sure, LaRue may be more expensive. But the quality is beyond excellent, and I KNOW that If I really wanted or needed to, I could get Mark Larue himself on the phone to talk to about his products. The ones that he stands behind with a lifetime warranty.

Plus... those Armadillo Bottle openers that they send with larger orders are just awesome. I have 2 now, and they're completely great.

All my AR mounts and gear is from LaRue. Could I have gotten it cheaper elsewhere? Sure, but I prefer to support Texas made products, rather than a large corporation that makes them who-knows-where.

Ive got piles off LT hats, dillo dust and bottle openers. The stickers are a plus too.


Other companies make you buy a hat. Lame.

I second the quality and cost of LaRue products. I have a a whole rifle from them and a pile of armadillos.

I don't diminish the quality of Larue products. If I was going to battle, I'd consider them. But I just shoot at paper or game on the weekends so I'm not too picky as long as I can shoot straight and make a clean kill.
