Angry Birds - Really like it 5 stars from me
Cut The Rope - Another good one 4.5 stars from me
Nike Workout Apps. 5 stars from me. I have Nike GPS since I have an iPhone and it honestly rocks. Don't know if the iTouch has GPS.
Google Earth
Google Maps
Cleartune Guitar tuner - actually tunes anything
If you are an Engineer the i41CX App it is an HP 41CX emulator - flawless implementation.
Wyse Pocket Cloud Pro - if you are an IT guy and/or have remote RDP connectivity to your desktop (best on iPhone)
Atomic Web is an excellent web browser
Pandora radio

If the iTouch has camera I also suggest:
360 Panorama
Sketchwiz
Perfect Photo

I have plenty of "loosers" apps but the ones I just listed really make an iPhone a killer tool and pocket entertainment toy.

Most of what I have is free, don't really like the idea of paying for something on a device I'll probably trade in for a new one in two years.
  • QRANK - daily quiz game
  • SureFire Shot Timer - REALLY works well, just like the real thing
  • All the big web sites have good apps - Google, Facebook, The Weather Channel, eBay, craiglist (craigsphone), IMDB (internet movie database), ESPN, wikipedia, YouTube, Dictionary.com, WebMD etc.
  • Multiconvert - converts any measurement into another measurement, like feet into meters etc. One of the best free apps available - use this all the time
  • US Constitution
  • the Bible (the whole thing - in like 27 different languages)
  • TX Statutes (paid about $4 for this I think)
  • PS Express (Photoshop basics for iPhone photos)
  • Photobucket - app links to your online photobucket account
  • iHandyLevel (a real functioning level)
  • card games - solitaire, freecell, blackjack, Texas Hold 'em
  • Pandora - streaming music
  • Shazam - play first 5-10 seconds of any song on radio etc and it will recognize it and tell you name of song, artist, album and ask if you want to buy it on iTunes (great for when you hear a song on radio and can't remember the name)
  • if you have little ones, "Bugs" and "BubbleFree" are fantastic for keeping hem occupied for a few minutes
  • MarkTheSpot - new app a family member just told me about, so I can mark all the spots where AT&T's coverage is AWFUL and it sends a notification to them. Apparently when they get enough gripes about a particular dead zone they send someone out (haven't seen any results yet).
  • optical scanners - there are bunch of bar code scanners and the new "QR code" scanner apps - none of them work that great yet. Cool to be able to look up the price of something online while you're in a store, but that's about it. I've tried about 5 of the free ones.
  • Realtor.com - I think this app is MUCH better than the less-than-stellar web site - the "show me nearby houses for sale" function is really cool
  • iExit - haven't tried this one yet, but downloaded it for our anticipated trip to Kalifornia to my in laws for Christmas :grumble It's supposed to tell you what services are available at every interstate freeway exit in real time as you drive (why can't GPS systems do this yet? - my 3-year-old TomTom won't do it)
  • Free Wi-Fi - shows you a real time list of free Wi-Fi hotspots near you (not as current as you'd like it to be)

I use a lot of the ones listed already, and I'll add the one that has been a life saver for me.

"Take Me To My Car" - Simple, basic app that you use to mark where you parked your car. Then, later in the day when you need to go back to it, it'll tell you where it is and now to walk there. Free app. (You can probably do all of this with the map app, but this method seems much quicker)

I use it all the time because I still think downtown San Antonio is confusing, and when I get down on the Riverwalk, I loose all sense of direction.

Doodle Jump (this one's for kids, mostly)
Hey! I resemble that remark. It's a simple, addictive, time waster. When I want to waste time, this is the one I go to.

If you fly SWA, get the SWA app.

I can recommend these (in no particular order):
MotionX GPS
Loopt or FourSquare (if your into sharing where you are)
Red Laser (bar code scanner)
Google
NFS Shift (awesome racing game)
IGun (who doesn't like things that go bang)
Flick Fishing (another time waster)
Netflix (If you have the service)
Pandora or SOMA Radio
Gibson L&M Guitar (Learn & Master) - has tuning application, chords, etc.
Drum Kit Pro - I also have some guitar apps...
Words with Friends
Fruit Ninja - Just for fun game in the complexity range of DoodleJump.

Wow. It so cool to have friends who can recommend other apps for me to spend my hard-earned money on. *sigh*.

Here, let me return the favor "rlol"
WeatherBug
MyLite (hey! Instant flashlight lol!)
JotNot Pro (takes pics of receipts, business cards, etc so that you can file them as documents later)
EverNote (all your notes, everywhere)
LegalHeat (reference of gun laws in all 50 states)
Gun Shops (geographically finds gun shops near you. There's a competing app that costs much more, but I like this one better)
CraigsPro (craigslist on the phone, surprisingly handy)
Osmos (a calming, yet addictive, game)
i3Hand21 (if Blackjack is your thing :-)
PvZ (iphone implementation of Plants vs Zombies - yay!)
RunKeeper - tracks your runs/walks, lets you see your progress in charts and maps (quite awesome)
Deep Green - for those times when I want people to think I know how to play Chess.
Math Ref - awesome mathematical/physics/chem reference (financial formulas too)
Yelp - find a cool restaurant in a new city!
IMDB - settle those bar arguments over what movies Sandra Bullock was in with Kevin Bacon
PS Express - Adobes very lightweight PhotoShop editor for the iphone
Guitar World's Lick of the Day - go beyond the basics
SoundHound - ever hear something on the radio and went "Who did that song?" - run SoundHound and it will listen and tell you!
Ocarina - because people always want to see you turn your iPhone into an Ocarina and blow into it (no, seriously, you BLOW into your iPhone to play it)

I find Runmeter to be the best running app. I've tried it vs Nike + GPS, and found Nike to be lacking when compared. The forums say Runmeter == Runkeeper.

I play WWF all the time.

USAA app if you're a member.

I have amazon prime (free 2 day shipping on everything almost), so I use the amazon app VERY frequently.

Weatherbug Elite

CFB Plus! - College football tracker

Tapatalk - mostly so I can read M4C posts.

Skype - cool but rarely used now.

Battery Doctor will help in prolonging your battery life.

Urbanspoon is great at deciding where to eat

Bloomberg has a decent stock app if you're into investing.

RedLaser - scans barcodes at the store and brings up online prices.
Google - voice entry!
Craigsphone
Fandango for movie times and locations
Google docs to access spreadsheets and word doc posted to my google docs account.
Where - finds the lowest gas prices around you
Zillow - see home values and MLS lisings as you drive through a neighborhood

Oh yeah! And be sure to add:
Flight Control - land airplanes and helicopters without crashing. More fun than it sounds.
Labyrinth - roll the steel ball through the maze (or is that iPad only?).
NASA app - the Astronomy Picture of the day and more.
The Elements - the Periodic Table made MORE AWESOMEREST THAN EVAR! (may also be iPad only).
Epicurious - if you like to try new recipes.

It really does get results. I have had three places get updated. If you check on the menu section it will tell you what their plans are for the submissions you've made.
