43.12 Yes, 54.05 no.
If this were a Democrat party poll, and they had the yes side, or their candidate was the one in the van, they would be declaring a "virtual dead heat" and thier candidate was making significant gains.

Gandyboy; clean your glasses:
off point articles?
We are discussing schools and guns; how much more on-point can one get than Government-compiled Statistics and reports on school shootings which show you that staff and fellow students are responsible for stopping shooters over half the time rather than law enforcement? One should be able to see that relationship easily, else get cleaner glasses/beer goggles.

@someothername: Quit with the off-point articles. They do not defend putting guns in classrooms nor do they advocate. They are studies of how to determine whether and individual is prone to violence in a classroom. This is not a support of your argument but rather a point for my side.

I loved the SCCC reps comment about imaginary scenarios being equivalent to talking about a martian invasion, and pointing out 71 campuses have ZERO problems with concealed carry on campus....put a smile on my face. Great way to end the endless "well what about this imaginary situation where x and y happens"!

Yes, Those "imaginary scenarios" invoking "feeeelings" versus Government collected assembled and analyzed and reported Statistics based upon factual historical events (which tend to repeat themselves) ..... be sure to vote :)

At about 12:40pm, the vote breaks down like this:
Yes 56.86%
No 41.13%
Not Sure 2.01%
It may not be turning out like they wanted...

Yes: 57%
No: 41%
Herp Derp: 2%
I like throwing out there that those arguing against it because of the tiny chance that a stray bullet could hit an innocent defeat their own argument when they say the chances of needing a weapon are slim to none. Kinda makes the whole stray bullet thing slimmer to none-er.

I enjoy asking :
OK, what's your solution?
Uh huh, put up signs? .... How's that workin' out for ya?
Uh huh, make all guns illegal? Worked in Mexico huh?
Ditto with any other disney world fairy tale "wouldn't it be nice if" solution they offer.

Someone needs to gandalf that statistically speaking it's unlikely that anyone will hijack a plane given the number that are in the air at any one time but that doesn't stop the TSA from groping the passengers.
And they keep saying that if we don't want that then don't fly. The same holds true for the prof if he doesn't want guns in his classroom then he can just retire. His choice!
Their logic just kills me. I want what I want and I want it right now. Laws are only for other people. Geesh!

I wonder if anyone was doing something unethical with the poll. The "Yes" vote jumped up by about 3000 in an hour while the "No" vote remained about the same. Not that I have anything against the "Yes" vote (since that's what I voted), but I don't want anyone equating people who support guns on campus are the same unethical people that hack polls.
