I am no longer affiliated with the DFW Gun Range

I hope Charles does not mind me taking this venue, but several members have started to ask questions, so here it goes.

Earlier this month I disassociated myself from the DFW Gun Range AND the Security Company I was a partner in.

I am not going to get into specifics, but suffice it to say this was needed for my personal and spiritual growth. It was time to move on. The range is still a safe place to shoot, and the instructors are top notch.

I am doing free lance PI work now, and am going to run some personal CHL classes. I am also putting together an advanced carry class that will take students beyond the CHL test's skill sets.

My ultimate goal is to re-enter Law Enforcement. I need 40 hours of in-service training, 16 of which I took last week at Tarrant County College, and the rest I am doing online. Once complete, I can take the state licensing test (TCLEOSE).

As far as this forum, ya'll ain't gettin rid of me. ;-)

Sounds like a well thought out plan to me. You are a good instructor. You are a good LEO. Speedy finish on the training & I know you will do well on the test.

We need you here for the resource & as a friend. ;-)

My good wishes as well. Changing direction is sometimes scary. I guess having a mid-life crisis in your 50's means you will live to be at least 100!

Thanks for the post.

It's always refreshing and reassuring to see others make changes in life and career. Makes me feel better about considering career changes that'd mean less money but more personal fulfillment

No  here. I will encourage it. Life is too long to live it in a boring, hohum job. Go for it.

Groovy!

Any "job" or "landing" you can walk away from on your terms is a good thing...

Good Luck!

txinvestigator,

Best wishes in your new endeavor. Each time I've changed course, or changed jobs, the new has been better than the old. I hope this holds true for you as well!

Regards,
Andrew
