The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, on 12/22/2010, approved $6,000,000 in tax benefits to
Smith and Wesson to expand gunmaking operations in Springfield, Mass.
The company currently has 900 employees and will add 225 more employees
by moving the manufacture of Thompson/Center Arms hunting rifles from
its current Rochester, New Hampshire site to the 50 acre Springfield site.
Too bad Mass. people have a hard time buying the output of what their tax
dollars are subsidizing. :-(
Don't miss reading the 2 pages of user comments on this story. There are 2A
friends in Mass, but they have to put up with a lot of pinheads. One commenter
mentions that he would like to buy a Taurus Judge, but Taurus won't pony up
$100,000 to the Commonwealth of Mass to have the Judge tested and "authorized".
Sheesh.
