I've corrupted another soul...

One of my co-workers attended the PSC day event a few weeks ago...

And he's now got the bug...

Picture all of the challenges put in front a new person to shooting and you can see what he is having to deal with...

Everything from the wife being nuetral about the issue, to kid(s) in the house, to obtaining his CHL, and what to actually buy...

And top that off with $$$ being tight...

I've seen it so many times...

I actually believe this is going to have a happy ending...

I told him that as soon as he gets his CHL...I sent him on a course to "ElGato", so hopefully he'll get that taken care of soon...I'll loan him one of mine...

I've also told him to get active in these discussions and ask questions...

As far as his material needs, to which I only encourage him to find what he likes, and shoot the heck out of it when he does get it...

He's looking at the M&P 40...

I think thats a great firearm...He and I both shot one of ElGato's MP's that day, and he and I were very impressed...

So I think he's headed down the right path on this, and I have to thank the efforts of those who put on the TexasCHLForum day at PSC to commend...

Otherwise, it might have stayed water-cooler discussion...

You guys and gals are the best!

Perhaps instead of "corrupted" you should say"converted".

Way to go buddy! This is TRULY the 2A advocacy that matters most. You can write all the letters you want to your government representatives, but actually taking the time to "witness" to someone makes all the difference.

I'm here because someone took the time with me 10 years or so ago, and previous to that I was an Anti, so taking the time CAN WORK!

I'm sure you have mentioned this to your friend, but it got my attention that he's considering an M&P in .40s&w. I've stopped shooting my .40s&w due to budgetary concerns; 9mm is about half the cost. Just something to consider.

"J"...

I hear you on the .40 to 9mm cost savings...

But I believe this transends that issue...He's not totally broke as a joke, and since this may, or may not be his only purchase of a firearm for the specific "self-defensive" purpose...I figure its a good leap...

Lets see how he likes it, and if he doesn't I'll corrupt him some more and get him to go ugly...Glocks are ugly...But they work...
