Pistol to Rifle Conversion

EMA Tactical/Roni is advertising in "Guns and Ammo" magazine a Pistol-Carbine Conversion thing-a-ma-jig fitting a variety of pistols.
They sell for $399.00 which seems very steep, but perhaps there's good reason.
The marketing says all NFA rules apply - I have no idea what that means...?
Per their marketing, (supposedly) one can achieve accuracy up to 80 yards with one of these things - if so, that upgrades pistol range far beyond hands only free style, if you will...
Anyone here have experience with these gizmos?
Thanks!

Haven't seen it but probably converts a pistol into a rifle, or vice versa?
Might make it an AOW (Any Other Weapon)
To "manufacture" an AOW , you'll need to file the proper paperwork with the BATFE, pay the tax, I think it's $200.00 or the forces will be at your house, shoot your dog, wife and kid before burning down your home ...
be sure you do it the "right" way.... they need the $200.00...
not kidding.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_Ridge" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (If 18" barrel is allowed, measure carefully, because if it's really 17and 63/64ths of an inch then you really need to pay $200.00 and file papers, or lose a family and a home and dog and go to prison)
and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waco_Siege" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (don't have parts which would enable manufacture of something you'd need to pay $200.00 tax and file paperwork for)
If you can't send in the paperwork and pay $200.00 TAX to the BATFE,......... then don't even buy one.
That's may be what that means..
SOME items are "possession of" as in if you buy the parts, never "use" them, leave them in the box, but haven't manufactured yet, they may still "knock on your door." They are serious when they don't get their $200.00 and proper paperwork on you.

from what I have seen, it basically replaces your slide & barrel with a way of making a long barrel pistol. The catch is when you add a shoulder stock & vertical front grip...

Yup, I know someone who has one on a G17 and he is licensed to manufacture weapons as well so he is working on some trigger piece to convert it to a G18 and be full auto. I have handled the RONI a few times but not shot it. His has an Aimpoint micro and surefire light attached. Pretty ugly but VERY cool.

Or, you can buy a Kel Tec sub carbine, in either 9mm or.40, that accepts glock mags and doesn't need no stinking stamp.

Not the same but very similar, just as ugly.
