Why does anyone need a 30 round magazine? In a country where the normal maximum speed limit is 70mph, almost every car on the market can travel at almost double that......why? That's not even including the aftermarket accessories such as nitrous etc....
He does make the valid point that, in the case of a trained or experienced shooter, magazine size is irrelevant. I'm not too keen on the idea of a "firearms offender" registry. It presupposes that our "govt" has benevolent intentions.......NOT!

So every soldier in the Military should only get say 3 rounds each, if that many. This would decrease our defense spending budget.

When I lived in MT, one of the neighboring states didn't have a speed limit on the highways once you were out of town. Having lots of HP is really handy when you're trying to get out of somebody's way, and a higher top speed is a by-product of having a more powerful engine. Sure you could put speed governors in every car, but they aren't free to design, make, install, or repair. Plus it could get you killed if you're trying to out-run a tornado or the mob, and the governor prevents you from going fast enough.

Actually, I was trying to be a bit facetious. A 30 round, or a 50 or a 100 round magazine isn't inherently bad. In fact sometimes they are downright fun! I enjoy the go-fast things on vehicles too! LOL As a point about magazine size, take a look at the British SMLE in 303. Specifically what our English cousins called "The Mad Minute". As bad as the Tuscon tragedy was, it could have been much, much worse if the man had been a bit more competent performing a mag change.
