So did some searching - this is a Talo special edition. I have #344 out of 750.

http://www.taloinc.com/colt.htm#NC" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - this explains why I couldn't find it on the main Colt site. Unfortunately I wont have time to shoot it today. Hopefully I can go sunday afternoon back home, or it will have to be during the week. This will eventually be my new primary off duty gun.

The above TALO link has a better stock photo. Here is a quick iPhone pic.

I'll take some quality pictures soon. Those aren't scratches - they're smudges from my inability to put the thing down. I'll have to steal the fiance's dSLR and do work.

I sill have a burning desire for a Colt CCO. But I couldn't resist this one's charm.

I brought home a Compact CDP today too! It was too close to being dark, so I'll have to go shoot it in the morning. Congrats on the new pony!

And for your viewing displeasure - I present the new and improved idiot mark. This variant spares the ugly scratch on the frame and goes right for the slide. Don't sneeze while reassembling your new stainless pistol....now I know... :banghead:

It's a light scratch that can be buffed out I'm sure - but it will be a carry pistol so I probably won't mess with it. Still hurt though.

Ouch! I'm sure it did.

I did a lot of research about the dreaded "idiot scratch" when I got my 1911 and to this
day I still live in fear every time I put my gun back together. Been lucky so far.

Target as requested:

This was about 25 rounds from between 3 -10 yards. I was favoring right slightly until I got my eyes dialed into to not having dots on the rear sights, only the one up front. It's a great shooter. I had one FTF out of 200 rounds that I couldn't trace to anything in particular, so we'll call it breaking in headaches. The trigger is not as smooth as my 40 year old, highly worked Gold Cup, but it is a defense handgun so I'll accept it. I'll run it by Teddy Jacobson (actions by T) sometime in February to get the action honeyed up just a hair. Don't really have my eye on any mods right now. Maybe at some point I'll send it to Colt to have the front strap checkered, get a new MSH, and de-horned.

I didn't realized how accustomed I had gotten to Aluminum frame 1911s. This one is all steel and I LIKE it. It takes the recoil much better, and allowed for much quicker follow up shots.

Highly recommend, as with any Colt.
