Another nice non-event carrying

Again sporting my new shoulder holster, I had to go by a lab & get some blood drawn. Contemplated trying to take off my sport coat & holster in the parking lot, then decided that would be far worse than risking a freak-out by the lab tech.
When I got settled in the exam room, asked the tech if she could close the door to the hallway. She didn't budge, but shot me a sideways look, and asked, 'why - are you going to scream or something?' I shrugged, stood up, and explained that I didn't want to scare anyone passing by - as I took off my sport coat.
Only reaction I got was a 'pfffft!', a dismissive wave of the hand, and a nice conversation about CHLs.

That's cool. I really think most people are reasonable and aren't really bothered by someone carrying a gun unless your pointing it at them or someone they know. I see concealed weapons on occasion and it doesn't bother me. I assume their a LEO or CHL holder.

But does that constitute a failure to conceal, if the tech wanted to make a big deal of it?

That's a very good question... while technically I think it is, practically speaking it's part of their job - they're going to see stuff not typically visible in public.
If I go see a urologist, he probably won't have me arrested for flashing him

I think it technically is. There is nothing in the statutes that makes any exceptions.

That's why I support open carry even though I will never open carry. Freedom is not being able to do what you want to do. Freedom is everyone having the choice to do something regardless of whether you personally wanting to do it.
The requirement to carry concealed only opens non-criminals (you) up to trumped up gun charges. It makes a crime out of someone not doing anything wrong.
