Suggestions on keeping your gun warm in car until you return

I go to school here in San Antonio, and of course I can not take my pistol with me, so I leave it in my car near the police station (:)). When I come back to the car, and put my gun on my hip, the thing is FREEZING cold. Are there any suggestions to where to store the gun (concealed of course) in my car to make this.. not happen? Tube sock, maybe? Bueller?
Thanks in advance.

This is a basic engineering problem.
You have a piece of metal (mostly) about two pounds at a temperature close to body temperature. You want to keep its temperature elevated while it is in an environment that is some 60 degrees Fahrenheit colder.
There are effective modern insulation materials that you can buy in the form of a bag for a couple of bucks in the freezer section of your favorite grocery store, like these:

If you really want to be a geek about this thing, "ice packs" work both ways: If you warm one up, it will stay warm quite a while. You could use one of those to stave off cooling for a longer period.
You might also try wearing thermal underwear.

Idea 1: When you get back to your car, get the heater going while the engine idles. Put the pistol on the floor near the heater floor vent. Let warm air blow on it for a few minutes before trying to holster it.
Idea 2: buy one of those reusable chemical pocket warmers that activates by "clicking" the flexible metal disc inside it. Activate it and put it in a jacket pocket with the gun. When you get home, boil the pocket warmer to reliquify the contents so you can reuse it the next day. Those can be reused a number of times before they are no good anymore.

Simple and cheap answer - wear a t-shirt between your holster and your body

1. Leave the car running with the heater on while you're away.
2. Hire a bum to sit in your car and wear your gun while you're away.

I like USA1's options the best. The rest of you had the dumbest suggestions I have ever read.
Thanks USA1!
:D
lol.. but really, I put it in my jacket (it's black, I'm wearing brown, so it stays in the car.)
Also, the heater on the floor is a great idea. I'm going to try that when I get back.
Cheers!

I thought it was HILARIOUS when I saw the popular 'urban' one. It was in camo and a black woman had it and was acting gangster-like. I'll take 3!
Once again, USA1, you never cease to amaze me.
