Just got back from the Saxet gun show here in SA,TX. I was interested in buying a compact .45 for concealed carry, but was steered away by this lil beauty.

The gun was about $440, so it was right in my price range (less, actually) and I was interested in a 1911. I should have picked up a extended mag so I can hold on to her a bit more secure. Oh well.. I'll just have to order one here. I'm VERY disappointed about them only giving you ONE mag. Tsk tsk..

Went to the range right after. I picked up some Winchester .380's and went to the Bullet Hole right after, and boy were they packed. I am not going to lie here, but I could not shoot the target for nothing. I was really all over the place with this. At first I thought it was just me, so I lent it to my brother to shoot (he really is a better shot than I am.) and same results. After putting about 100 rounds through her, I started getting the hang of it. I started to hit the target and made some decent groupings. I don't know if it's because I have to put my trigger finger all but half way on her and it's making me jump? Or.. beats me. I tried different ways to shoot her, but still had trouble.

I really thought that I was going to have a hard time because my pinky was hanging off, but the recoil was nothing and quickly got the hang of it.

All i need now is a holster and some night sights. Also I will take some pics here, but it's nothing you haven't seen before. Pictures to ensue very shortly..

I picked up one of these not to long ago also, and must say after putting around 200-300 rounds through it I love the little gun.

how far out where you shooting? after spending some time getting used to the trigger pull, I have found the gun to be fairly accurate at 8-10 yards, I have never really tried to shoot it any farther then that

It doesn't have night sights? Those are standard equipment for the P238s.

I think the copperhead is the only one that doesn't have the night sights, although they are an option for them. The Nitron model in the OP should have them.

beign an owner of a Nitron 238 with out night sights, I am fairly sure they dont all come with night sights but yes, there are far more versions of the 238 with night sights then with out and im pretty sure there is a Nitron finish with night sights version also

funny, sig lists the nitron as coming with them. I have never seen one without them but now I have heard of two such guns.

I shot only out at 10 yards. Nothing further than that. The trigger pull was definitely getting to me. It was a bit hard and wondering if I can lower it to 6 or maybe 7lbs until boom. I don't know if that was the issue or what. It was fairly hard to hit anything straight for the first 30 rounds. Even my brother realized it and told me to shoot at 1 o'clock at the target and so I did. What do you know, I hit dead bullseye. Just a little confused. Hoping to put another 200 rounds through her by the end of this week to try and see what I am doing wrong.

Keep shooting it and it will probably lighten up on it's own. Mind did.

I guess when you clean it the first time you see how short the barrel is. This does n't help with the accuracy.
Of the guns I own, I shoot it the worst by far as far as accuracy is concerned.

But I really like the way it shoots, very little recoil and the triggers seems just right for me.

A while back a pistol instructor asked to shoot my P238. He asked how the sights were adjusted, did it shoot high or low, left, right, etc. I told him I didn't shoot it accurately enough yet to really tell. He had never fired a P238 before and was interested in the gun. He then fired three rounds fairly quickly with about a 4 inch grouping from 15 yards. Two bullets were almost on top of each other inside the black circle.

So after that I realized any inaccuracy with this gun is my fault, not the guns.

Yeah, I don't doubt that it is me. I have to put some more rounds through it. Anyone have 1k rounds they can give me? Thaaanks. :p

Mine started out horrible too. I had quite a few ejection failures and even the cases that did eject had marks on the case mouth. Some were just small dings and others were literally crushed.

The problem was recoil spring "stacking". Slowly working the slide by hand, it would hit a point of stiff resistance about 1/8" before it got all the way back. Without the recoil spring, everything was as smooth as butter.

I called customer service and described the problem. They sent me a new recoil spring and the problem was solved.

Of course it still had a few break-in teething issues. The last time I shot it, it went 100 rounds without missing a beat.

I have used Mr. Flintknappers Pre-break-in formula with my P238 SAS model. I have about 500 rounds through it without a single FTF. No problems here, and with great accuracy as well.
