I am a Chl holder and carry my LCP 24/7. But I'm missing the safety of my old Springfield xd. In fact the perfect gun would probably be a Springfield xd .380 single stack, but that is not made. So I was hoping you guys could suggest some single stack .380 or 9mm pistols for me that maybe I haven't checked out yet.

OMC or AMT 380 backup, (same gun) not the newer DAO, but the old one with both the grip and thumb safety.

close in size to your LCP, Aluminum instead of plastic so a tad more weight

Design was ok, quality control, not as good.

Saw one at a gun show recently way overpriced, sometimes they pop up cheap.

My Dad carries a PK380 and likes it quite a bit. He bought b/c he also has a P22 that he loves, and they are extremely similar. The PK380 has a larger grip and frame compared to an LCP or P3AT and is very easy to shoot accurately. No laser, but it does have a thumb safety. In that same size category I recommend the Kel_tec PF9. They are ugly and cheap feeling, but they work and conceal a full power round better than any other 9mm around.

keltec pf9 has no external safety....................

If you want .380 single stack, thumb safety, I am thinking SIG P238. Pricey but very sweet.

Thanks guys...I started carrying with a Springfield sc 40 and just found it hard to conceal 24/7 because of the width. So I switched to my lcp which is a great carry. I just like the grip safety of my old xd since I carry cocked and locked 24/7.

I had stayed away from the p238 in the past because of the problems they had when they first came out, but it seems like they've pretty much fixed the bugs now.
