51% in Huntsville

I have lived in Huntsville now for about 4 months while finishing my last year of school. I noticed that one of my favorite lunch spots, Zach's Bar and Grill, is not posted with a 51% sign. Now I thought for sure this bar was 51% and had already took my weapon off and left it in the truck. Does anyone know if this bar forgot to post the sign? Also if it is a 51% establishment and I carry and somehow get found out if they didn't post the sign, is it on them or me? They do have the standard signage for a resturant that serves alcohol. I even asked the bartender are ya'll a 51% bar and she said she had no idea what I was talking about.

If you carry somewhere that is not marked 51%, but it truly is (and SHOULD be marked), it's on you if you're found out.

You'd really have to call the TABC to find out if it should be marked.

Yup. The lack of a sign is not a defense.

Some folks would like to make the lack of a sign be an affirmative defense. I'd rather change it so that carrying in a 51% place is not an offense in the first place.

Zach's does a lot of lunch-time business as a restaurant (they at least used to have some wonderful hamburgers on their menu) and has enough sales in food that I would not doubt that they are not a 51% esablishment. But I haven't been there in years. (Since before they moved from 17th street to their current location.) That said, a little extra digging can get you the right answer to be sure.

You might also want to ask a manager.
I had a question about a place that my coworkers and I like to visit for lunch. I didn't see a 51% sign posted, but felt it was; so I asked. It indeed was!

Their official sign got stolen (!) and they hadn't replaced it. After I mentioned it, they just printed one out on the printer.
