I have had my Crimson Trace laser sights on my LCP less than a year. I replaced the battery about 3 months ago and noticed today that the beam is getting weak again. Has anyone had similar issues with their LCP Crimson Trace?

Get a battery tester, not a VOM. The battery tester tests under a load to tell you How fully charged the are. A VOM only tells the voltage of the battery, not how charged it is. Most hardware and electronics stores carry them. Just make sure it tests UNDER LOAD.

I had the same issue, the activation button was gettting depressed by my holster. Ya might wanna check to see if your holster is making contact with the grip button before persuing other solutions.

I have purchased 5 CTs, Commander, the earliest from about 2 yrs ago. I visit an indoor range generally about 3 times a week, and I always make sure the CT is still on target. I have never had to replace a battery.

I had the same problem from the same cause.

Stop playing with it so much. The cat is getting tired of chasing it..jk
You might also check to make sure the lense is clean.

Wifes SP101 she purse carries 18 months and still strong enough to see in daylight. Button gets pushed everytime she changes purses, we go to the range. I check it monthly.

My original CT on a Beretta 92FS lasted 10 years on the first battery. yes, stop chasing the cat, holster and pouches turn them on accidently and if your model has an on/off switch, turn it off when in storage like a safe.

In case anybody wants to learn more about the product and did not see the ad in American Rifleman.

To all of the folks that mentioned having accidental activation of the laser while holstered, what kind of holsters were/are you using? I am heavily considering the purchase of a Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry and when I checked it out at Cabela's that was the first thing that came to mind was accidental activation. I really like it quite a bit but I really don't want a dead battery when/if it is ever needed and I also don't want a red dot following me around on the floor.

It sure is pretty though.

I had the same problem from the same cause.

Very common problem on the CTs for LCP & P3AT, especially if carried in one of those inexpensive soft Blackhawk pocket holstes sold at Academy, Cabelas and elsewhere .... try a different holster if using a CT with one of those guns in one of those holsters.

Somewere close to 4 years.. light use still first battery.

I have had mine in my .340PD for around 5yrs without a problem. I have the LG 305.

I have lase greips on my bedside gun. One night, several years ago, my stepson called to ask if I could pick him up from the school basketball game and give him a ride home. What I didn't know was that he meant half of his high school class too.

Grabbed my night fighter and holstered up and away I went, and crammed four kids in the back seat and my stepson in the front. As we went down one of the residential streets one of the kids in the back said "red light" and I wondered what he meant, because there wasn't even a stop sign in sight.

Having dropped off all but my stepson's girlfriend, she leaned forward and asked me "Mr. Longley, there's a red light coming from under the seat, is that normal?" I checked and found that the laser had been activated the whole time because that holster just happened to his the pressure switch.

Last time I carried that gun in that holster.

My batteries last a good long time otherwise.
