My Dad came down from near Ft. Smith, AR to see the kids this weekend. He hasn't seen my son since the boy was 2 and the first time he's seen his granddaughter. It was a nice visit. It's such a long drive for just a weekend.

My boy will turn 5 in a few weeks and Papaw (son's name for Dad) brought him his fist gun. He's not quite ready, but I look forward to lot's of fun with my son and his rifle.

It's a CZ 452 scout.

Rght now the boy seemed to have more fun with the gun sock.

Thanks. It's his mom's fault.

BTW, before anyone says anything, I know that his finger is on the trigger. One of the things we are working on. I did say that he isn't quite ready for shooting yet.

 Isn't that what it is all about?

Failing to pass on the obsession...I mean love for firearms is certain death in the future to something we all love.

My love for the sport started at around that age with a single shot .410 and my Dad telling me he could get it reloaded before the case hit the ground.

You have a great looking family DWS...I am glad to see there is a new addition! Please send congrats to your boy from all of us!

Congratulations dws1117. I remember my first rifle and I remember giving my children theirs. I can't wait until I get to get my Grandson his first.

Did that this year for my grandson......its even better than giving your kids their first gun.

Watching my grandson sit in his father's lap to shoot his "Cricket" is as good as it gets.

DWS, you should be very proud. Keep up the good work.

I remember my first gun!
That is so sweet! And I'm glad you're teaching him gun safety early (finger off the trigger), even though he isn't using the gun yet.

Dh & I were watching parts of Rush Hour (on one of the stations) and I had to quit watching b/c Chris Rock & Jackie Chan couldn't seem to get their fingers off the triggers.

I still have my first gun,
A Remington Model 66 .22 LR semi-automatic rifle.

Haven't fired it in YEARS!

I do too, my dad gave me a single shot 20 in 1968.

It's spiritual isn't it folks...

At Thanksgiving this month, I have 9 year old niece, who I'm going to introduce to the sport...

I think sending some .22 in a Ruger 10/22 carbine downrange might be kinda fun...

Her 6 year old brother should be fun as well...But I may have to wait on him for a while...

ehhhh, how knows...
