Nikon 8417 Monarch Rifle Scope 2.5-10X 50 BDC Matte 1" for $368.73
Nikon 0743 M-223 1" Scope Mount for $72.23 ( seems a bit expensive)

I was also considering:
Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 DOA current bid $358 but I am sure the bid will go higher.

Another option is
Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10 x 50mm, Matte [422152M] Ill Recticle Offered for $339 can be had for little less if I make an offer. The Retcile is #4A (Thick) with illumiated dot ( and no BDC!)

decision! decision! decision! time. The scope will go on a SIG 556 and most likley will be used for shooting some steel and paper in addition to repelling zombies.

That's a good price, the scope price is barely above my wholesale price, the mount price seems to be fair.

Is a scope with no BDC a problem on non-hunting rifle?

I wouldn't buy a scope with only solid crosshairs, put it that way - I want mildots on it at least.
That scope also has capped knobs that you can't adjust for Bullet drop. I guess it is intent is hog hunting at night or in low light.

I guess I am now back to Nikon Monarch with BDC. The Bushnell Deal did not go through and I do not think I can live with no BDC or MOA Knobs. illuminated dot could be cool but not very useful where long range shots are needed.

I ended pulling the trigger on:
(Refurb) Nikon 2.5-10X50 BDC for $332.47 ( inlcuding Tax $25 and $7 shipping)
http://www.samplelist.com/Nikon-25-10x5 ... -P936.aspx
and
M-223 Mount for $67.45 ($63 -15% off + $13.90 shipping) from
http://www.botachtactical.com/
Total $400.
I will post pictures and review of the scope when mounted and sighted in.
