Criminal Record questions

Howdy!

I'm looking into getting my CHL. I've read a lot of different threads on these forums and I still haven't really found anything that directly reflects my situation.

In February 2008 I got a MiC (Minor in Consumption of alcohol) at Texas Tech university. The school took no action against me, but the town of Lubbock pressed and I received Differed Adjudication. I was 18 at the time of the offense. This is classified as a Class C Misdemeanor. I was not arrested.

In February 2010 I got a Public Intoxication by a minor (I was 20 at the time) in Flower Mound. I was not arrested for this offense either. I received Differed Adjudication. This is also classed as a Class C misdemeanor.

Other than that I have two tickets for an expired inspection sticker that was payed for promptly.

Currently I am 21. Am I disqualified from obtaining a CHL at this time or do I get to wait a decade?

Thanks,

FNP9

Try again after Feb 2015, With 2 class C defferals (counted as conviction for a CHL) you need to wait 5 yrs for the latest offense. Hang on time flies by fast.

Also throw away the bottle. You can't have a CHLer while chemically dependent on Alcohol or drugs.

From GC 411.172:
(c) An individual who has been convicted two times within the10-year
period preceding the date on which the person applies for a license of
an offense of the grade of Class B misdemeanor or greater that involves
the use of alcohol or a controlled substance as a statutory element of the
offense is a chemically dependent person for purposes of this section and
is not qualified to receive a license under this subchapter. This subsection
does not preclude the disqualification of an individual for being a chemically
dependent person if other evidence exists to show that the person
is a chemically dependent person.
Class C Misdemeanors, other than Section 42.01 (disorderly conduct), are not disquailifiers for a CHL.

As Crossfire noted, you're fine; the Class C MIP and PI are not disqualifying.

Chas.

Thank you, I was getting rather paranoid about taking a CHL class and submitting my paper work with my past. Ya'll have really alleviated a huge stress. In other news, I have in fact stopped drinking completely and am set to graduate university in August with a bachelors of General Studies.

Thanks again,

Do you still need certified copy of this criminal record?
