Beltman Belt Caution

Wearning my Beltman Belt with my 1911 last weekend and (luckily) when I got home and when to the restroom, my belt buckle was all jacked up! Long story short one of the chicago screws was completey missing and the other was 1/2 thread from being MIA as well. Had this happened out in town I would have looked stupid running around holding my britches and CCW up!...So I emailed the beltman and as he told me, "I musta forgot the note that came with the belt about putting loc-tite on the scews of my NEW belt"....So if you have a beltman belt or consider ordering one...Read all the paperwork!...AND LOC-TITE your screws or at least check them before you go a totin in public!PS: I have 5 gun belts. I wear the belt man least of all because it was 3 times more expensive than the rest and I dont want to screw it up at the ranch, working etc... None of the others has this issue and I did not have to perfrom maintenance on a NEW belt to prevent known problems.
Its a beautiful piece of leather no doubt. not slammin or ventin...just the facts ma'm. and a heads up!

Reckon I'll be sending him some money for SCREWS.

Read FAQ 21 on the beltman web site if you need screws!

Thanks for the reminder. I have a couple of Beltman Belts. I will have to check them. I just can't seem to justify buying a whole container of loc-tite for a couple of screws. If you use loc-tite make sure it's the blue stuff. I hear that nail polish is also good, but I don't have any of that laying around. ;-)

He probably doesn't Loc-tite the screws because he expects that most people will replace the stock belt buckle when they receive the belt.

FYI Chicago screws are available at most hardware stores if you need some right away.

Are there better buckles out there?

The buckle I picked for mine is very nice...for the $100.00 and something bucks I would expect it to be.
I'll rant a little here...I was sorta suprised when I emailed him askng about obtaining a nother Chicago screw to replace the one that fell out while I was wearing it and got what I thought was a crappy response telling me I musta forgot what I read in the paperwork. Rant over...

I probably read too much into it.

This is Texas where cowboys (real and urban) wear belt buckles to make a pro wrestler jealous.

I would think that the leather on Beltman belts would be too plain for the type of buckles worn by real or urban cowboys or pro wrestler.
