Who carries one? Im tired of my spare taking up real estate in my pants pocket. Preferable double stack users.
Most of the plastic/kydex seem like theyd create a rather large "tell"

I believe the law says you have to conceal your weapon, not all your spare mags ;-)

There are lots of manufacturers of leather holsters (Galco, Don Hume, etc.) that make some nice looking OWB mag pouches. Just pick your faves and check their catalog. IWB carriers are trickier to find, but there are other threads on this forum that have pointers to IWB mag carriers.

I use a Fobus double mag paddle carrier for my 15rnd .40's. The only time I don't is when I carry IWB and then I'll put one extra mag in a pocket.

I use the BLACKHAWK OWB mag carriers. For covert carry I use a generic knife pouch I got at Academy.

I simply use a old knife leather holster. Works well. No one ever questions it, nor is it conspicuous. I only carry one for my 1911 or a 380 magazine. Double stack is just too bulky. If I can hit anything in 12+1 rounds (For my Sig P226 in 357Sig) Then I deserve to get harmed. (<--Please don't take the joke seriously.)

These are great. I've got two of them and they are very inexpensive.

I tried the Don Hume Strike IWB pouch. It was extremely uncomfortable. I don't want to wear an OWB pouch. It's too obvious. Someone on the forum mentioned using a cell phone holster, which I thought was a great idea. Everyone wears them, and no one would suspect anything. I've got one on order now that will hold two double stack mags. They're made by RipOffs.

Warning! I am gonna whine.... you guys can carry a knife sheath on your belt without folks looking at you funny. Gals cannot. I am thinking of trying a horizontal cell phone holster for my 380 mags and revolver speed strips. Anyone ever try this before?

I have a comp-tac leather/kydex iwb mag holder for my 9mm. I wish I could say I was thrilled with it, but I cannot. The leather is very thin, and "flops" down over the kydex. The holder is made to accomodate both the standard and compact magazines. This means the compact mag can go way down in the kydex - then the leather flops over leaving a pokey-outy print on your shirt AND making it difficult to grab the mag out.... sorry to say I was dissapointed for the price. I think I am going to trim the leather down a bit and maybe shove the excess down in the kydex as a stop for my compact magazine.

I use one of these. Works great and the price isn't too bad.

Yeah, but y'all have purses. Guys cannot. ;-)

Unless you sport a satchel. Then it's a different ballgame. :biggrinjester:

An ankle magazine carrier like this one is a bit slower into action than one mounted on the belt, but it's very comfortable and very well concealed when wearing full length slacks.

68Charger - I often do not carry my complete purse. I deal with livestock a lot and need hands free. Even when I do have my purse to have to either A: wrestle with it to find my extra mags or B: find the purse, because I can imagine if things go south and I have to draw I am dropping everything but my sidearm, I have kept my mags in the cell pouch on one bag, and that is where I got the idea to try a horizontal cell phone holder.

Excaliber - that is an interesting idea....I tried an ankle holster for my 380, and it made me walk a bit odd... I might be a bit easily distracted, but I figure mags won't weigh so much and be so one sided heavy. Thanks for the suggestions!

I've carried one in an old Gerber tool belt pouch. But, I've often wondered what I would say if someone asked to see my Gerber or borrow it. :eek6

Ankle carried magazines ride much more comfortably than ankle carried firearms. I think you'll like the method when wearing slacks.
