Last week, I was at the Austin airport waiting to catch a flight to Missouri. Being almost noon, I decided to buy a BBQ sandwich at the Salt Lick BBQ stand located INSIDE security. Standing in line, I looked up to see the TABC required "Unlicensed Possession....." sign. I thought, Okay, who is going to have a handgun back here?....I guess regulations are regulations.

Somebody pointed that out to me 25 years ago, also at the Austin airport. It's the law. Who says it has to make sense?

If they listed all the exceptions, it would get much more complicated.

S&W6946, that's funny!

I can't remember seeing one of those... I'm sure it wasn't forseen by those that wrote the law.

It was a felony to carry a firearm in a bar in Texas a long time before airports had security checks.

If you've always lived here, you tend not to notice all the weird stuff surrounding alcohol in this state. I remember when you had to buy a membership card to drink in a bar, and you couldn't buy beer on Sunday.
