Just curious about how many classes and the dates for this year. If the classes are full does it make sense to sign up now or wait for next year? Thanks....

Nobody has the dates for this years classes? Maybe there not released yet? I know there is an April class. I guess I could call DPS and stay on hold 20 minutes but I figured someone else would know here. I haven't seen it posted anywhere on their site. Thanks in advance.

My guess is that nobody (outside of DPS, anyway) actually knows the dates of the instructors classes. Certainly, as for the instructor renewals, we don't even know if a class will be required (since we've already taken and passed the test), or if shooting will be required.

My personal record is 37 minutes on hold before giving up...

Well I assume that folks that have been submitting are getting back some class options. I have noted that there is a 4/11 class and a 4/25 class that folks have mentioned.

For those of you who have heard back from DPS, what were the options given for the class? I need to schedule in when I can get there and take it.

I actually called and sat on hold for a half hour today to ask what the dates for classes were. She told me that they have not determined any dates at this point. She asked if I had already sent in my CHL-90 (which I sent off today). I know that there were the two classes in April and I assume she asked the last question which would mean that she didn't need to even offer me the April classes at this point because stuff wouldn't be ready for that.

So I guess at this point we are waiting to see when the next class comes up. Every 2 weeks sure would be nice . Hopefully its not 3 months out or something like that. Last year's big class was first week of June. June is acceptable...May is better.

They all expire December 31st of odd years. So all certs expire the end of this year (except, of course, for those who've already taken the class this year -- those expire 12/31/2013).

I applied in late November. In February when I recieved the e-mail about the class my options were April 25-29 or some time in August. They didn't have specific date for August. anyone else going to this class?

I guess at this point if there is no other class in between that I'll be at the August class. I sure hope they have one sooner!! I have the potential to have a conflict if they do the last week of August.
