Haven't been, but wish I could.
Really wish I could.
But my checkbook anchored me firmly at home....

If you leave it at home won't it at least let you look around
a little.

Before you go, you should know that the parking is screwed up!
All of the normal parking across from GRB is closed and under construction. All of the remaining parking lot operators conspired to all charge $10 for parking.
I parked in a park & lock for $6, but had to walk five blocks.
I heard a rumor that the construction was a parking garage. If that is true, there should be some eventual relief. But until then, I doubt very much if I return to GRB.

Just found this at the convention center website:
PARKING INFO
1001 Avenida de las Americas 77010
The George R. Brown features a 1600-space parking garage located at the corner of Polk Street and Avenida de las Americas. Conveniently connected to the GRBCC and the Hilton by Level 2 skywalks, parking couldn’t be easier.
In early September, 2006, crews started work on an 12-acre downtown park located directly across from the convention center. As a result, two of the parking lots once found in the front of the building are no more. Expected to be completed in early 2008, the multi-purpose park will include a 650-car underground parking garage.
In addition, there are several privately owned surface lots surrounding the convention center. All are just a short walk away or across the street. Please refer to the PARKING MAP for lot locations, and check the Event Calendar for additional parking and shuttle bus information by event:
This means that the ground level parking that was convenient to GRB is permanently gone. With the above ground park, it remains to be seen how much of the new below ground parking will benefit attendees at GRB.
I had never tried the 1600 car parking garage and this may be an option.
As far as the rates being charged, we are already screwed. If, this morning, people had been willing to refuse to pay the $10 and walk farther, it would have made an impression on the lot operators. Since they've seen they can keep their lots full at $10 car, they have no reason to back off from this outrageous fee.

I guess I'll wait for the ones at the Reliant .
I realy hate going downtown for anything, worked service calls down there for years and the only good thing was the tunnels.
