Almost two months to the day after my order, I received my Kramer MSP Horsehide Paddle Holster. This is my first experience with Kramer Handgun Leather, but I will say that the construction and workmanship is top notch.

Right now my Colt Detective Special fits too tight in the holster for a smooth draw. I wrapped the gun in a plastic dry-cleaning bag and will keep it in the holster for a couple of days to "break it in" before I carry in public. I wore it around the house for a short while and it seems like it will be very comfortable. Even though it is OWB, I can conceal it while wearing the same clothes as my IWB holster [untucked shirt or sport coat]. I will post again after I get some carry time with it.

Most leather holsters I've owned require a thorough break-in. Nice grip on that piece.

I own 7 of Greg's holsters, dating back at least 15 years. All are in excellent shape and so is the cowhide ones. The only problem I had was with his comfort shirt, when i had to reposition the pockets.. because of my barrel chest.

Kramer makes some very high quality gear.

I promised an update on the Kramer MSP Paddle holster. I have been using it for almost two months and it is now my primary carry holster. After "breaking in" the holster by wrapping my handgun in a plastic dry cleaning bag and storing it in the holster for two days, the gun does not bind and has a smooth draw.

The holster is easy to install after dressing. It slides over the belt and waistband into position and can be easily adjusted - I usually carry at 3:30. Although I don't think that it is a neccesary feature, the belt strap snaps into place so that you won't accidently pull out the holster along with the gun. The holster is also easy to take off and put back on, if you need to disarm. [This is a feature that I used quite often.] Since the gun is holstered outside of the waistband you don't need to buy oversized pants.

I find it more comfortable than IWB and with my Colt Detective Special it conceals just as well. Even though it is very comfortable, I can't say that I forget that I am carrying, but the steel Colt does weigh 22 oz unloaded. The finish on the leather has a high gloss and has not scuffed, scratched or dulled. The materials and craftsmanship is outstanding and I am sure that this holster will last for many years. I am totally satisfied and recommend it with no reservations.

Wildbill, if you have not done so, get a heavy duty gunbelt to carry your ensemble. At least 1 1/2" belt works best. My was made years ago by New Braunfels leather and still looks new. Makes a world of difference in comfort and stability. Looks just like a dress belt.

Also, I really want to know if the design keeps the butt pulled in to your side.

Thanks, but I wear a Beltman Bullhide belt with my MSP holster.

Yes, I am still using the Kramer MSP holster.

However, since the original post, I have changed my EDC to a Beretta PX4 SC. I purchased another Kramer MSP for it.

I still like the holster.

To answer your question: No, the design doesn't keep the butt pulled in.

Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping to hear otherwise, but I just don't know if paddle holsters can work like that.
