Replacement stock question

I'm building a 300 win mag off of a Remington 700 action. I ordered a Krieger #6 Heavy Bull Sporter for it, but am having trouble picking a stock. The Bell and Carlson Medalist in tan w/ black webbing has everything I think I want (full length aluminum bedding, roughly 30-34 ounces, and good history), but I can't find any info on whether or not it would support my barrel. I seem to be getting mixed information- some say yes, it will fit fine even if you have a fat varmit barrel, others say no, it's designed for the factory sporter contour barrel. The #6 from Krieger is in between- I'm sure if it were snug my smith could work on it to make it fit, but I'm wondering if I should just abandon the B&C stock altogether?
I'm looking for a more subtle profile- sure the tactical style looks cool, but it looks tactical and I plan to use this for hunting as well and don't want my rifle to scream "This is an expensive custom rifle!" whenever I go to the range to practice. The reason I like the B&C is because I can have Cabela's order it for me and use my gift cards to pay for it, leaving my cash for things I can't buy at a retail store with gift cards.
