So I saw the new Kimber solo in my nra magazine yesterday and I think I love it. I want, err, need one. What have you heard about this gun? I only read what Kimber said about it.

I have it's cousin, the Para Carr 9 for sale in the "for sale" area...Fire1141 wrote:So I saw the new Kimber solo in my nra magazine yesterday and I think I love it. I want, err, need one. What have you heard about this gun? I only read what Kimber said about it.
Marketing hype at it's best.Fire1141 wrote:So I saw the new Kimber solo in my nra magazine yesterday and I think I love it. I want, err, need one. What have you heard about this gun? I only read what Kimber said about it.

I've not had any problems with mine, other than learning to put the slide lock spring back on properly. Seems to shoot as well as I can and has not yet hand any feed failures of any kind.Fire1141 wrote:So I saw the new Kimber solo in my nra magazine yesterday and I think I love it. They do look nice. I think the problems are more involved than "break in" issues though.TexasGal wrote:I, too am interested in the Kimber Solo. I have been reading various early reports and it seems Kimber has a very specific break in method they want used. If you ignore that, there are problems with malfunctions. If you follow it, then it seems to function fine after that. At least that is my impression so far from my research. It sure looks nice. I have not had a chance to pick one up yet to see how it feels. I am holding off to see which way the wind blows on it's reliability.
Perhaps I'll never own a Kimber. Each time I buy a gun, there is generally a Kimber beauty on the table or in the cabinet, and for a second, I consider buying it instead. I just don't like the idea of having to go to the range with a certain type/flavor round and run thru it. I like going and running thru mag after mag of whatever I put in my springersgigag04 wrote:They do look nice. All. I think the baby Glocks are the most reliable platform for the super compact category. My fiancé (5-00 100lbs) has little person hands and shoots her S&W M&P 9c VERY well. That pistol offers interchangeable backstraps on the grip that allowed us to tailor the grip to her hands.TexasGal wrote:Thanks for the shopping list!![]()
Now, I know which ones to look among for my next EDC.
