.40 advice

After reading many, many, many posts on this forum, and watchng YouTube videos, i decided to forgo the purchase of the .380 my friend was selling me and am gong to with a compact .40.
I'm going to go in the $500 range, so i thought of two that I was looking at.
The first is he Taurus 24/7 BPC-15. anyone have any opinions on this one? It seems like (by the reviews I've read and seen) that it's a pretty reliable and accurate weapon.
Okay, I said two, but I am up in the air about the 2nd. Either a Sig P250, or an SP2022. The only drawback from the 250 is that it's DAO, and with a 10 lb. Trigger pull.
Any opinions? Comments? Recommendations?

This, good price for a great gun, you will love it
the DOA trigger on the p250 was a turn off for me also, and after a year of carrying the 239 no real complaints, execpt that it seems to hate .40 cal fmj that is has a rounded nose instead of the flat nose
although I cant imagine the sp2022 being any different in that aspect

You should strongly consider the .40 versions of Smith & Wesson M&P, Glock, and Springfield XD too.

I am in the primary stages. I will consider those, as well. Need to do more research.

and while there is no wrong choice in any of the listed handguns this is the part where you need to hold them and figuring out which feels best. I tend to like my gun to have a little bit of weight on it

Shot the Taurus. Felt good in my hands. The Sig, not yet.

I have an M&P 40c and it is BY FAR the most accurate compact .40 I have ever shot. That being said, I also have the Springfield XD compact, Sig 239 and a Glock 23. I liked the M&P so much I bought the full size as well.
I tried the SIG 250, and just couldn't get the feel for the trigger.
If you are ever in the Dallas area and want to shoot a few compacts, let me know.

I really like the px4 storm in .40, I was very accurate with it. It's in your price range as well. YMMV

What Austinrealtor said. All three are very dependable. I believe the xd is the cheapest and the Smith is the most expensive. I own a Glock 27 and have nothing but good things to say about it. If I didn't have the Glock my second choice would be the Smith. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know where you got a 10 pound trigger on the P-250.
It's about 5.5 pounds and very smooth with little stacking although long, I own two P-250 compacts in 9 and 40 and love them.
