Yes, it is not the top of the line. Sure, it doesn't have 47 bolts around the entire door. It doesn't have an 8 hour fire resistance. It is not a $2500 safe. But it is a decent safe if you've (like me) outgrown the one you have.

It may not be "Fort Knox" but it is definately much better than trying to hide your guns in your underwear drawer, putting them under your bed or storing them in a Walk-In Walk-Out closet. And it's less that the price of a good gun. :thumbs2:

I have a size up from that model and it has worked out great for me. I've never understood people recommending a $5k safe to protect $2k worth of guns. The 4 moving guys plus me could barely move the thing loaded so I'm not really worried about someone making off with it. Anyone really knowledgeable about getting into safes isn't going to be interested in mine, assuming anyone even knows its there.

Mine is to deter the random break-in thief and keep my kids out. Insurance will cover the rest.

When I was reloading I used to keep a bunch of bags of shot in the bottom of my safe. It probably weighed 1,000 lbs.

I bought a "Winchester" safe from Costco that has almost identical specs except that it had 3 way bolt movement (had bolts on top and bottom along with bolts on each side). They had them at the stores - paid $550. It was also a little heavier IIRC.

You're still okay. We don't allow BGs to join the forum.
