A student at Oklahoma Christian University was robbed at gunpoint in his dorm room.
No, wait, that can't be...
in a Gun Free Zone...
on a university...
must be some one's sick idea of an April Fool's Day joke.

The article said they have added additional security and police.
Maybe the next poor kid who gets robbed won't have to wait as long
for them to show up and take the report.
Luckily they didn't have notify the coroner this time.
Our Children leave the protection of home to better their lives
and are restricted from the God given right of self preservation.

extra security cameras are being installed
Security cameras are the answer ????
Cameras have never "protected" they can only "report"
We see "reports" on the news when store clerks are shot and killed. No one was ever "protected" by a camera.
When will they learn?
Photography may solve crimes, it doesn't prevent people from being victims, they failed to protect, and still fail.

Comments are interesting
It's a Private University which would OPT OUT, so criminals would only visit private schools, because they'll feel safer.

...and at a Christian university at that. Where's that other cheek when you need it the most?
{I'm sorry,

it slipped out.}

Actually ...
Police report 2nd armed robbery at OC

On March 8, a similar incident occurred on the OC campus. At about 2:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to the campus on a home invasion/first degree burglary at the Wilson East dorm.
Nothing spells "I FEEL SAFE" to a criminal like a gun free zone.

Do the Oklahoma bills let private schools opt out?

Lights. Don't forget they added exterior lights to make it safer for the crooks to escape!

I dunno, I just read the comments "this one's on you legislators" and something about if it HAD passed, they'd be able to opt out.... I'm unfamiliar with what OK has currently

Of course, wouldn't want 35 to 80 light bulbs burned out like San Antonio College has had the last 2 inspections, and have them trip and fall in the dark

I'm sure they'll install those super special, highly efficient, mandated, LED, last forever green lights that save the planet, save the children and save your soul.

I'd be all for security cameras as a deterent if they had tasers mounted to them, and some way to figure out who the BG is.
