I believe so, but not sure. I'm in Austin thus always just browse their inventory at Austin store. I did call today about this sale and guy told me that if you prepay for a gun at Austin or Dallas store, they will ship one of the guns only availble from Georgia store to Texas store free of charge and you can pick it up there.doc540 wrote:do they charge Texas resident sales tax plus the shipping?
This all happened a few months ago. Apparently, S&W was bypassing GT and selling big orders directly to some LE agencies in GT's "territory" - which obvious upset GT's greatly as big LEO sales are their bread-n-butter. So, as I understand it, there was a "mutal parting of the ways" between GTs and S&W. The guns on that list are the last S&W guns they have in stock and after that they're done with the brand (and Walther, which is imported to US distributors by S&W). I've heard talk that "some day" they may get S&W back in stock through some other distributor, but it WILL NOT be at the super-low prices they were offering (even to non-LEOs).surprise_i'm_armed wrote:austinrealtor:
GT is no longer going to sell Smith and Wesson???
As one of the top pistol brands, and as some LEO's authorized service weapons,
I find this unfathomable as a business decision.
Any background on this?

Try CDNN Investments out of ... Amarillo? Abilene? forget where they're from, but they're in panhandle somewhere and do a big mail-order/FFL ship business. Usually have at least one or two really good deals on M&P15.MadMonkey wrote:I just found out about this when I picked up a used M&P40 at the Austin store a couple of weeks ago. Stinks... I wanted to pick up an M&P15 from them eventually

guns are not listed, nor searchable, on their web site. must click on the "virtual catalog" and leaf thru the electronic version of their paper catalog.

They are in Abilene. BTW, I moved here (Brownwood) from Abilene last year and Abilene is not in the Panhandle. We consider it West Texas. It is sometimes referred to as "Panhandle Plains" when talking about topography, but that just means it is a part of the same plains that eminates out of the Panhandle. Minor point, but wanted to offer a little geography.... If you are willing tio drive to or through Abilene, you can pick the gun up at any local gun dealer and avoid shipping, but their shipping is only $18 anyway.... now back to the show!
