Coupland Inn & Dancehall posted?

My wife and I are headed down near Elgin (Yeghua Creek area) for business this morning, and we're being taken out to the Coupland Inn & Dancehall for dinner tonight. I think it is just a bit east of Roundrock. I just need to know if it is posted or not. I checked texas3006.com and there isn't an entry for it.
I hope someone can tell me.

I don't know TAM, but this guy could probably tell you: Rick Smitherman at (512) 856-2226
I haven't been to the place in 25 yrs. but if they still have a jar of 'Pickled' baby armadillos next to the pickled eggs, don't buy one (they are really old).

I can't answer if it's posted but check this out. It sounds like you're in for a treat.
You might recognize the bar from a scene in the TV miniseries Lonesome Dove, when Texas Ranger Gus McCrae smacks the surly bartender. Today, you’ll find only friendly staff behind the bar, serving up chilled longnecks from a horse trough filled with ice.

Skip the pickled anything at the dancehall (which is a cool place, been there once, WAS drinkin thus NOT carryin so didn't notice signage) and drive down the road to Elgin for the best smoked sausage in the world.
Like the place in "The Blues Brothers" had "both kinds" of music "country and western"

, Elgin has both kinds of smoked sausage:
Meyer's - which is fatty, delicious, and very bad for you
And
Southside Market - which is basically fat mixed with a bit of meat and will without question clog your arteries

I'd have to go for the Meyers, though neither one could hold a candle to the original "Biggers BBQ" that used to be there. After that "Crosstown" (before closing) would have been next in line. These days Meyers would be just O.K. compared to Biggers.
I don't how many zillion pounds of sausage I ate from the late 60's until the mid 80's...but I did my part to keep Biggers in business.

Crosstown was great, forgot about that one. I went one day and it was closed. I heard the owner had passed away and they had to close. Sad deal.

I think that we need a sausage thread.

Well, as it turned out, I met Rick Smitherman. He's the owner, and it turns out he is friends with our hosts, and he serves some of their products in his restaurant. He came by our table for a few minutes and visited with us while we were eating.
Oh...
1. Nope. Not posted. Just the TABC "no unlicensed carry" signs on the dancehall doors.
2. No pickeled anything by the cash register. When I told our waitress about Flint's warning, she laughed and said "that must have been a long time ago..."
The BBQ ribs were very good.

Yes about 25 yrs. ago.
But honestly...they had a big gallon jar containing about 8-10 baby Armadillos (in pickle solution) right next to a jar of Pickled Boiled Eggs. Both had that pinkish tint.
The Armadillos were obviously there as a joke....but present nonetheless. They were probably 3" in length, fully formed...baby Armadillos. There was even a price on the jar (25 cents each).
If you can find someone that was working there back then...they will confirm it.
