Hi fellas,

Hoping to get my plastic in soon. Ill be carrying a fullsize SR9 in my crossbread dual clip type holster. Any recomendations on a good belt at a reasonable price?

Belts
Some like Beltman belts I think they are double layer but not kydex reinforced
Some like Crossbreed belts
I like Comp-Tac belts

I don't know what you consider a reasonable price, but I highly recommend the Beltman Bullhide belts. I own two of them, a 1 1/2 inch and a 1 3/4 inch. For casual wear, I also recommend the Original Wilderness Instructor Belt. I also own two of them, one in black and the other coyote.

While I am sure that there are many other fine products available, I can't vouch for any of the others.

I have never heard of anyone who got one of these brands and was disappointed. The other brand that is reasonably priced and does a good job are the 5.11 belts.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm leaning towards the 5.11 since they are about half the price of the others. I know you pay for what you get, but $100 for a belt, just seemed extreme to me. But what do I know?

It's better than paying $30 for a belt and finding it doesn't work and then spending more money to get one that's good.

For a while, I was buying those cheap walmart belts. I would go through 1 every 3-4 months. They were running like what 20-30 each time so I finally sat down and did the math. It was costing me on the low end, 60 and on the high end 120 per year. I finally went out and bought a high quality tony llama belt for just under 100. That belt has lasted me 3 years now, providing me 80 savings on the low end, and 260 in savings on the high end.

I have worn my Beltman Bullhide nearly every day for three years and it still looks and works like a brand new belt. I usually wear the Wilderness Instructor belts on weekends and they are still like new.

As WildBill said in another post I have worn mine for about 3 years and they still look new. I have 1 1/2" for everyday. On Sundays I wear 1 1/4". I was one who bought the cheap ones and then one day found my brain and went with Beltman.

I have 2 of these belts (in brown and black), and they seem to be a good value for the money.

I'll probably get a Beltman at some point, but I am trying to lose weight right now, so I will probably wait until I have "right-sized" myself first.

I own both a nice Beltman belt and several 5.11 belts. They are equal to each other in performing the basic job of supporting a gun. My Beltman is a much nicer looking belt, but do not underestimate the 5.11 belt quality either.

I presume that you are talking about the 5.11 "stitched leather casual belt". I am not familar with their leather belts, only their nylon belts. IMO, the Beltman Bullhide has the appearance of a high quality "dress belt" while also having the qualities of a good gun belt. That is basis of my opinions.

I am considering proposing

The 5.11 leather belts will work, but don't hold their looks very long. The fake leather covering the plastic insert is very thin and scrapes off easily. Again, they work and hold the gun very well. Aesthetically they get ugly quickly.

The 5.11 web belts are excellent, but I like a kydex/plastic insert in my gun belts and they only offer that in the 1.75-inch version.

The best "bang for the buck" in a quality gun belt, IMHO, is the Wilderness Tactical web belt with kydex insert (about $50-$60 depending on size/options).

Beltman makes the finest leather gun belts I've ever worn. Easily worth the $100 if you don't mind/can afford spending that much.

Look at looper law enforcement, at around 55 dollars their a good buy.
I have a 11/4 double leather kydex reenforced velcro lined belt.
Good value for the money.
