Senate hijinks (non-2A)

CSSB 1543
Sen Wentworth has consistently voted against suspending the constitutional rule requiring a bill be read over three different days. Now, he's requested just that that rule be suspended for his bill. The dems scared up a half-dozen people to vote against his request.
They lost their opposition, but there was plenty of giggling around the room.

yeah they were acting silly .... yet it was
a bill helping schools
They did first ask how many were needed, then came in below that on objecting just to be silly, then all voted for the bill itself.
Ellis just wanted to waste time.

To be fair, I don't think it was to waste time so much as to send a political message or two. You know, don't be a hypocrite was one and the second was a more subtle reminder that his actions might have consequences. Right now, the D's keep trying to remind the R's that they really need to play nice. They won't have all this power forever.
After all, the D's had it once and ignored the R's. They only managed to keep the power for about 110 years. Now they have learned their lesson and don't want the R's to pay their arrogance back.
