Attacked this evening almost had to use deadly force!

By a big ugly duck!
This evening I brought my wife and 2yo to the pond to feed the ducks. However shortly after I arrived this big ugly warty face looking duck decided it did not like me or my shoes and started to attack them I swatted it in the head, shoved it with the shoe it was attacking, yelled at it, threatened to make it for dinner, picked it up and through it back into the pond and it came back and attacked me some more after many more attacks I retreated about 20 feet picked it up again and through it back at the pond, it turned around and started to come back again but decided I was far enough away and let me leave. My wife and kid were right next to me so were other kids the duck only wanted me.

Sounds like you got too close to a momma Muscovy! They are very territorial about their nests....They are not lovely, but very cool ducks - good meat and layers too!

If it was territory it would be going after everyone wouldn't it, this thing was only really going after my shoes and pants leg and only me it cam from out in the pond to give me this greeting.

You were probably the only one there without AFLAC and the duck knew it.

Those massive geese they have at our local pond are enough to keep me far away. I think those things are illegally carrying! They're big enough to! Birds shouldn't be that large. I think they eat kids to get that big. I'm not getting close enough to find out.

If he/she appears to be following you home, try to get to the nearest police station while calling 911 on the cell. They can have the SWAT team prepped and the grill heated!
