What is the Bushmaster, Carbon 15? What is there is the difference or is there a difference between it and just a Bushmaster AR?

Mrs. Chemist has a Carbon 15. She loves it.
It is very lightweight (I can shoot it like a handgun).

I do not like it. One of the cool things about AR type rifles is all the aftermarket accessories you can get for them.
(Its like Barbie for guys.)
Sadly, many of them are not compatible with the Carbon 15 rifles.
They do not accept aftermarket butt stocks, pistol grips, fore ends, etc.

Hope this helped.

I bought a Bushmaster Carbon 15 O.R.C. a couple weeks ago. I am pretty pleased with it so far (after one range trip of about 60 rounds). It was on sale at Cabela's for $699. I'm sure there are some things it is not compatible with, but I've already put an aftermarket stock on it with no problem. That said, there is more than one Carbon 15 model and I can't speak for all of them.

I have reliability concerns on the plastic guns, but truthfully, I've never seen/heard of one blowing up or breaking.

They make great AR pistols b/c of weight savings. I have also heard of other issues with parts interchange ability. They look to be decent plinking rifles though. I would not take one to war or anything.

It helped, but too late. :banghead: I have spent more on accessories than the rifle. :smilelol5:
