It's an an matching T53. Just picked it up a couple of days ago, so I haven't shot it yet but it looks good so far.

T53 has even more oomph than the M44. Bayonet makes a difference in recoil.

My M44 has plenty of OOMPH for me....but that sure is a pretty collection!!! Are you trying for every year/place of manufacuter, or just picking up nice specimens as you find them? :tiphat:

I guess that, what with Mosin prices, having a collection like that costs less than 9 months of electricity bills.

I got hooked on them after my first one from Cabelas for $90. The history behind them and all the different variations and stamps intrigued me. I started with a couple of common refurbs then went for ones in older stocks as I stumbled across them. As high as electricity bills are maybe only a couple of months

From top to bottom...
1943 Izhevsk 91/30
1942 Izhevsk 91/30
1927 Izhevsk ex-dragoon 91/30
1955 T53 all matching
1938 Tula SA marked 91/30
1938 Tula 91/30
1933 Izhevsk 91/30
1932 Tula MO 46/50 91/30
1940 Tikka receiver 1900 Tula with Austrian and Czech stamps M91

Wow, quite a collection! I just bought my first 91/30 and love it. I have managed to hit steel targets at 500 yards so far, what a fun rifle to shoot, cheap too!
I am seriously considering getting another.

Quite the collection.

I just bought a 1939 Izhvesk 91/30 from Cabela's (at $99 I couldn't resist) and spent the better part of 2 weeks cleaning it up . . . a HUGE amount of fouling came out of the bore - it took a lot of work with a bronze brush, Hoppe's BR9, and JB bore paste. From all the stamps on it (I think every Ivan who touched it added his mark to prove to the commissar he was working for the glory of the Motherland) it seems to have been refurbished at a Soviet facility in the Ukraine.

Now I just need to get some ammo . . . lots of places on the web selling milsurp, any recommendations on a specific source?

If it has a box with a slash in it on the stock it is for sure a refurb from Ukraine. It never stops at one. Enjoy.
