2nd Lt. "Ed" W - Great Depression survivor, Oklahoma Dust Bowl survivor, B-17 pilot, WWII survivor, self-educated, retired President of Gateway National Bank, and at 89 years old is still barking orders like the Captain of the Family Ship. He did it the old school way when a man's word was his bond.
Happy father's day, SIR!

Thanks
He's a tough old bird, but if he had to he'd take a bullet or crawl for help if you needed it.

Definately a dying breed, and I'm sure there's some great stories to be told.

Definitely.
He likes to tell how during WWII he got "five" but wasn't recognized as an ace.
The were
ours.
Then he details all the planes he ground looped, dinged, and landed so hard they needed repairs.
As soon as they let him solo in a J5 Cub and against all rules, of course,
he looped it.
It broke the main gas line from the tank above his head.
He made his first deadstick landing, and when he got it stopped he said avgas was running out the tail wheel.
