My response is that it is melodramatic and over the top, and not particularly good reading. And this is coming from someone who is transitioning to a more libertarian (small L) viewpoint. Ayn Rand makes much better reading, and even she is a little tedious.

Yeah, by the time I got to the second paragraph, my eyelids were on Snooze Patrol. One of the problems with parables is that they're very hard to write. More importantly, they're supposed to be succinct. However, the author is "an attorney that works in Manhattan," so perhaps that explains the long-winded-ness
Ayn Rand is like the matronly grandmother that tells you a story you loved to hear the first few times, but she insists on telling it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over (ok, you get my point
